About

Cyrus Deboo is an actor, writer, and performer based in Los Angeles, originally from Seattle, Washington.

He began his TV career with recurring roles on The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, and its spin-off Port Charles.

Other TV credits include: CSI: Las Vegas, How to Get Away with Murder, and How I Met Your Mother.

Deboo has also been featured in numerous commercials for brands such as Prego, AT&T, Lowe's, and Dell.

Cyrus has trained with renowned acting coach Eric Morris and at Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) for improv.

One evening, as Cyrus was at the theatre, he met a fellow audience member who encouraged him to entertain the thought of writing his own one-man show. As someone with great passion for performance and storytelling, this led Cyrus to Soaring Solo Studios, and his now director; Jessica Lynn Johnson.
And so was Something Is Seriously Wrong With Cyrus born.

The show had its world premiere at The Hollywood Fringe Festival in the summer of 2024 to rave reviews.

Happy Anniversary to me
Two years ago, I joined a 12 Step group. I met a man who invited me to his one man show. At the show, a stranger persistently encouraged me to write my own show. She knew nothing about me, and I never saw her again. But she wouldn't shut up. I wasn't sure if she was an angel or the devil. That led me to connect with a writing coach, director and mentor who allowed and encouraged me to write my stories. She provided a safe and fertile ground for me to share myself, my insides and my past. So many things I had been hiding for so many years.
A year ago, I left the business I co-created and owned. It was scary, combative, felt unfair, and even clumsy and full of regrets.
I followed my dream and premiered my one man show last year.
And this year, I was fortunate and so grateful to have an incredibly successful fundraiser not with donations of money, but so much love, encouragement and belief in me. Soon I will travel to Edinburgh in August to perform my show for 26 times in 28 days.
I would never had imagined that hundreds of people would come to see my shows in LA, Orlando and NY and experience my story! I am truly grateful and appreciative for all of the love , support, encouragement and feedback I have received. It made all of the sacrifices and lifestyle changes worth it. Who knew there were so many ways to cook rice and beans, and how many sleepless nights and panic attacks I would experience. BUT...as Rumi says..
If you have a dream, get on the path, and trust me...the path will appear.

Hi, I’m Cyrus Deboo — a queer Iranian-American actor, writer, and performer. Over the past few years, I’ve poured my heart into creating my one-man show, There’s Something Seriously Wrong With Cyrus — a story about identity, family, healing, and yes... a whole lot of Madonna and Taylor Swift.

This show started as a personal outlet and turned into something so much bigger — packed houses, standing ovations, and deep conversations after every performance. And now, I’m honored to share that I’ve been officially accepted to bring my show to the Edinburgh Fringe Fest in August 2025 — the world’s largest performing arts festival. 🌍🎭

The financial undertake to bring an independent show to an international stage will be a lot, so I graciously ask for help. I basically spill my guts about growing up Indian/Persian and gay. It’s funny but also gets real deep at points. I weave in Madonna and Taylor Swift tunes throughout because honestly, what identity crisis isn’t improved by pop divas? The whole thing is really my story of finally saying, ‘This is me—cultural background, sexuality, and all the beautiful messiness in between.’ Took me long enough to get here, but better late than never, right?”
